Slate Reality Check

Will a Slate work for your life?

Put in where you live and how you drive. See your range at any temperature, what home charging costs there, how clean your grid is, and how far you can go on real roads, with every fast charger on the way.

These are estimates. Almost no one's driving a Slate yet.

Until Slate owners log enough real drives, range is worked out from 1,548 real drives in other EVs (LFP ones where there are enough) at each temperature, as a share of their own EPA ratings, applied to the Slate's 205-mile rating. Where PlugLog doesn't have enough cold-weather drives yet, it uses Recurrent's winter range study (30,000+ US EVs over several winters: 78% of ideal-weather range at 32°F, 70% at 20°F), applied to PlugLog's warm-weather drives. Each temperature band switches to real Slate data on its own once it has 20 drives from 3 drivers, and its label changes.

LFP, myth and reality: an LFP battery keeps its capacity in the cold, but charges slower until it warms. Precondition the battery before a fast-charging stop.
