Terms
Terms of service
Last updated October 2, 2026
The short version
- Tracking your drives and charges is free. PlugLog Pro ($59 a year) adds dash cam backup and a few extras.
- Pro renews every year until you cancel. Cancel any time and it lasts until the end of the year you've paid for.
- Your data and videos are yours. We only use them to run PlugLog for you, and we never sell them.
- Keep your eyes on the road. PlugLog's numbers are estimates to help you understand your EV, not something to drive by.
These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and PlugLog about using the PlugLog website at pluglog.app and the PlugLog app for Android Automotive cars (together, “PlugLog”). By creating an account or using PlugLog, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what we collect and how we use it, and is part of these terms.
Your account
You need to be at least 13 to use PlugLog, and at least 18 (or have a parent or guardian's permission) to buy PlugLog Pro. You sign in with links or codes sent to your email, so keep your email account secure: anyone who can read your email can sign in as you. You're responsible for what happens in your account, including in any car you sign PlugLog in to. If you think someone else is using it, sign the car app out and tell us.
Using PlugLog safely
Don't use PlugLog in a way that takes your attention off driving. The car app follows your car's rules for what can be used while moving (for example, dash cam video only plays when you're parked), but you're always responsible for driving safely and following the law.
PlugLog's figures, like efficiency, range, charging power, energy used and costs, come from what your car reports and our own calculations. They're estimates and can be wrong. Don't rely on them for safety, for deciding whether you can reach a charger, or for warranty, legal or tax purposes; use your car's own displays and records for that.
Free and Pro
Free
Recording and viewing your drives and charges, with your efficiency, range, costs and full history, is free, for up to 2 vehicles. We may change what's included in Free, but we won't take away what you've already recorded.
PlugLog Pro
Pro costs $59 a year and includes 100 GB of dash cam backup for your account (shared by all your vehicles), any number of vehicles and developer API keys. You can add storage in 100 GB steps at $24 a year each, up to 1 TB in all. Prices are in US dollars and don't include any sales tax that applies where you live, which is added at checkout.
Billing and renewal
Pro is billed yearly, in advance, through our payment processor, Stripe. It renews automatically each year at the then-current price until you cancel, and Stripe charges the card you've saved. If you add storage partway through a year, you're charged now for the rest of that year; if you remove storage, the unused part is credited toward your next payment. If a payment fails, we'll keep Pro on while Stripe tries again for a short while, then it ends.
Cancelling and refunds
Cancel any time from Manage billing on the Pro page. Pro then lasts until the end of the year you've paid for and doesn't renew. Payments aren't refunded, including for the rest of a year after you cancel, except where the law requires it. If something went wrong with a charge, email support@pluglog.app and we'll make it right.
Price changes
If we change Pro's price, we'll email you at least 30 days before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you'd like. A new price never applies to a year you've already paid for.
Free Pro
Sometimes we give Pro for free for a while, for example to beta testers. It ends on the date shown on the Pro page unless you choose to subscribe, and we won't charge you unless you do.
Dash cam backup
With Pro and backup turned on, the car app uploads the clips your car's dash cam saves, on Wi-Fi while you're parked. Backup keeps your newest clips: when your storage is full, the oldest clips are deleted automatically to make room for new ones (clips you've shared on your public profile are kept). Backups depend on your car, its drive and your Wi-Fi, so some clips may not be uploaded; keep your own copies of anything important, like footage of an accident.
If Pro ends, new clips stop uploading. You can still watch and download what's backed up for at least 30 days; after that we may delete it. Subscribe again before then and it stays.
Your data and what you share
You own your data: your drives, charges, vehicles, dash cam videos, and what you write in wishes and messages. You give PlugLog permission to store, process and display it only as needed to run PlugLog for you, as our privacy policy describes, including showing anything you choose to make public and using drive data anonymously in combined efficiency figures (unless you opt out). You can download your drives and charges or delete your account at any time.
You're responsible for what you share. Dash cam video can show other people, vehicles and license plates: only share footage where you have the right to, and follow the laws where you live about recording and publishing video. We may remove anything shared on PlugLog that breaks these terms or the law.
What's not allowed
- Breaking the law, or using PlugLog to harass, threaten or invade the privacy of others.
- Uploading or sharing anything you don't have the right to, or that's harmful or illegal.
- Trying to get into other people's accounts or data, or around Pro, storage or rate limits.
- Disrupting PlugLog, overloading it (including through the API), or scraping it.
- Copying, reselling or reverse engineering PlugLog, except where the law allows it.
Other companies
PlugLog relies on other companies, including your car's maker (for what the car reports), Google Play (to install the car app), Stripe (for payments), Cloudflare (hosting) and Mapbox (maps). Their own terms apply to how you use them, and we're not responsible for their services, or for a car maker changing what your car reports.
Changes and ending
PlugLog is growing, and features will change. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and tell you by email or in the app before the change applies; using PlugLog after that means you accept them.
You can stop using PlugLog and delete your account at any time from Settings → Data. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, telling you why unless the law or safety prevents it. If we ever shut PlugLog down, we'll give at least 30 days' notice so you can download your data, and refund the unused part of any Pro year.
Warranty and liability
We work hard to keep PlugLog accurate and running, but it's provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise it will always be available, error-free, or that every drive, charge or clip will be recorded or backed up.
To the extent the law allows, PlugLog isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost data, lost footage or costs from relying on an estimate, and our total liability to you for anything related to PlugLog is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you; nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under consumer protection law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana and of the United States, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Any dispute about PlugLog that we can't settle by talking it through will be handled in the state or federal courts in Indiana, and you and PlugLog agree to those courts' jurisdiction. This doesn't take away any right you have to bring a claim where you live under consumer protection law.
